Thank You For Making a Difference!

Successful Campaign for Beaumont Hospitals Draws To a Close

Seven years ago, the Beaumont Foundation launched The Campaign for Beaumont Hospitals, the largest fundraising effort ever undertaken within this health system. Much has happened since then yet one thing has remained constant – the generosity of the people in this community. Because of you, the campaign is set to exceed its goal when it draws to a close next month.

At a time when rising costs and razor-thin operating margins have made it more expensive than ever to operate a nationally recognized health care system like Beaumont, The Campaign for Beaumont Hospitals has been vital in helping us serve our patients. Thanks to the campaign, Beaumont continues to:

The campaign, which launched in January 2005, focused on six key clinical areas: heart and vascular, oncology, urology, orthopaedics, geriatrics and pediatrics. Funds also were raised for critical research and surgical initiatives. Other gifts, such as those to our annual fund, helped support outreach programs such as screening mammograms for underserved populations and assistance for under- and uninsured patients.

The Campaign for Beaumont Hospitals received gifts of $1 million or more to name centers and programs that focused on everything from cardiology, lung cancer, breast cancer, pediatric surgery, orthopaedics and urology to pancreatic cancer, genetic research, adolescent health, pediatric therapy and acute care for the elderly. These gifts benefit patients not only from Michigan but from throughout the United States and Canada.

None of this would have been possible without the leadership of our campaign chair, Walter Wolpin, a highly respected business leader and member of the Beaumont and Foundation boards. Walter helped recruit an exceptional Campaign Executive Committee, including Eugene Applebaum, Thomas Celani, Susan E. Cooper, Graham A. Orley, Warren Elliott Rose, James I. Rosenthal, the Hon. Deborah Tyner and S. Evan Weiner. We are deeply indebted to the entire campaign committee for their boundless energy, extraordinary generosity and unflagging passion for Beaumont. The impact on patient care has been profound.

If you would like to be part of the historic Campaign for Beaumont Hospitals, it is not too late to make a gift and make a lasting difference in the lives of the hundreds of thousands friends, family and community members who rely upon Beaumont Health System each year.

If you are one of the 60,000 who already has given to the campaign, please accept our sincere gratitude for all you have done to make the lives of our patients better, healthier and happier.
